Being that person who understands the whole world is undergoing rapid change, Ms. Cynthia strongly believes that leaders should constantly learn cutting-edge knowledge to lead the team and employees to become market leaders.. Thereby, she keeps paying attention to the future development trend of the industry and constantly updates her knowledge base by learning from higher experts. She loves connecting with elites ranging from younger generation to seniors, learning something new and unique from each individual/entrepreneur she meets.
Progressing Towards Change
Even though the beauty industry is meant for women and by women, the top cream of the decision making personnel is still male dominated. But Cynthia talks about how at UDN, due to the focus laid on women’s career development, there is a great rise in the proportion of female employees and management at UDN. From her perspective, Ms. Cynthia feels the main problem of women in the workplace is the lack of self-confidence, and therefore, she wants women leaders like her to encourage women around them to grab on-to opportunities, and bravely accept challenges in the workplace. Also, with the increasing education level of women, and more social attention on women leaders, Ms. Cynthia strongly believes that the society will be open to see more fairness, and women leaders will take up decision-making responsibilities in the future.
Lastly, adding an open message to those several young girls and boys who are working really hard to make it to the top, Ms. Cynthia adds – “I don’t really think there’s a particular routine to succeed, but there’s always a lot to learn from your mentors”. “Keep leaning, keep being eager to learn, no matter how old or how much you achieve – Keep an open mind, discuss with people but don’t argue, respect every opinion. Know who you are, know what you are capable of, know your position, don’t be arrogant”, she concludes.
