From the Scratch

Winnie was highly engaged during her school years, showcasing her musical talent by playing the tenor saxophone throughout middle school and part of high school. Her exceptional skills earned her a full scholarship offer to join the Power Sound of the South, NC State marching band at North Carolina State University. Despite the opportunity, she remained close to home at her mother’s request.

 

Upon relocating to Magnolia, Arkansas in her senior year of high school, Winnie’s academic achievements allowed her to complete graduation requirements early. This led her to spend a significant portion of her high school year in an internship program, where she served as a deputy clerk for the Columbia County Circuit Court office. Subsequently, she was offered a full-time position there after graduation.

 

Winnie dedicated seven years to her role as a deputy before exploring different career paths. During her tenure, she pursued higher education at Southern Arkansas University through the Upward Bound Program, initially aiming for a Criminal Justice degree. However, her career trajectory shifted when she ventured into management roles within various organizations, prompting her to redirect her focus toward Human Resources.

 

While pursuing her first degree in business management, Winnie delved into the human resource field, gaining a comprehensive understanding of HR professionals’ roles in organizations. Upon completing her second degree in business administration with a concentration in human resource management, she recognized her true calling in human resources. Balancing administrative responsibilities with her passion for people, she listened to their needs and translated them for organizational executives. Her ability to create programs and systems that supported both individuals and the organization’s overall performance became a source of joy for her.

Empowering Organizations

With a steadfast vision for advancing along this path, Winnie sought counsel from seasoned entrepreneurs. Encouraged and guided by their insights, Winnie harnessed her inherent talents and sense of purpose, leading to the establishment of People Operations Services. Emphasizing the mission, Winnie stated, “All the services provided by People Operations are crafted to support organizations in investing in their people. Consequently, individuals will exhibit heightened performance, contributing to a favorable company ethos and culture.”

 

Delving into the core activities of Winnie’s HR firm, she explained, “Our firm educates organizations on utilizing engagement as a tool to reshape the trajectory of the workforce, asserting that engagement is the linchpin of success.” In further detail, Winnie outlined how her firm actively guides organizations and their employees to step away from their desks, interact with their colleagues, attentively listen to their desires and needs, and deliver effective solutions. She emphasized, “It’s not solely about financial considerations; it extends to mental and emotional well-being. People aren’t robots; they have emotions, and as leaders, it’s crucial to recognize and attend to the well-being of our people.”

Navigating Challenges and Impacting Lives

For Winnie, Guiding People Operations Services brings immense joy while engaging with diverse organizational leaders, offering reassurance in areas that have long been sources of concern for them. In her role as the founder and CEO, the paramount responsibility in her kitty is to devise effective solutions that cater to both the people and the organization. Also, recognizing the uniqueness of each organization and the varied challenges they face, fostering creativity and innovation, as the CEO despite the challenges she ensures that the company’s belief is that no obstacle is insurmountable.

 

Among the notable challenges she and her company have faced so far, securing funding emerged as a significant hurdle. Despite numerous grant applications yielding no approvals, unwavering commitment to her purpose ensured that there was always enough. The conviction that aligning with one’s destiny attracts the necessary provisions became a guiding principle.

 

Despite not having the extensive marketing resources of some counterparts, Winnie takes pride in possessing the heart and calling that has positively impacted hundreds of lives worldwide. Furthermore,  having held firm in the belief that the services she and her company provided addressed genuine needs, and all that was required was to make their presence known, allowing their work itself to speak volumes.

In their commitment to humanity, People Operations Services extends their love beyond their firm. Through their foundation, “For the Love of People,” they provide life necessities to individuals worldwide. The overarching goal is to exemplify love for humanity, recognizing it as the fundamental catalyst for success.
